ANNUAL DVWGS KICK-OFF LUNCHEON
Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 12:30 pm.
Springfield Country Club
Our annual kick-off luncheon will again be held at the Springfield Country Club, 400 W Sproul Rd, Springfield, PA 19064. Mark your calendars and plan to attend! This is a perfect time to get together with members to review the past season and prepare for the next one! It is always nice to compare notes with other members while the snowflakes come down to blanket our sleeping ponds and gardens.
Beside the usual great food and fun stuff, we will have a raffle with many donated items along with a 50-50 drawing.
Check here for details of how you can donate items for the raffle.
Our speaker this year is Alden Zove of Cedar Run Landscapes. Alden will be talking about rainwater harvesting, rain gardens, permeable pavers, and how they may be integrated with garden water features. Alden is the owner of Cedar Run Landscapes which for 37 years has operated as a full-service design, installation and maintenance company. Prior to launching his business, he was active in the Philadelphia park system, first as a gardener at Independence National Park, and later as an intern at The Morris Arboretum. He has degrees in Horticulture from Temple University, and in Plant Science from the University of New Hampshire. He has taught classes in permeable paver installation and water feature design for E.P. Henry corporation, and Green Stormwater Best Management Practices maintenance for the Sustainable Business Network of greater Philadelphia.
