PHS Philadelphia Flower Show, March 1-10, 2019
DVWGS Exhibit
DVWGS participated, for the second year running, in the annual PHS Philadelphia Flower Show.
Numerous members and friends of DVWGS contributed to the success of our exhibit. Thank you so much for helping to make the exhibit a success and for communicating your enthusiasm for ponds and water gardens with some of the 250,000 visitors to the show. Even though we won "only" a silver medal, we were winners, we all agree, in the unofficial "number of selfies" and "crowd appreciation" categories. Our exhibit was truly eye-catching and a "Feast for the Senses", with colorful flowers, rushing water, and the scent of hyacinths and herbs.

- Paul Pezzotti for his beautiful rocks, design sense, and assistance before and after the show.
- Craig Snyder for his great design and construction skills in designing and constructing an amazing backdrop with shingled facade and roof, antique door and windows, and wooden deck. Thanks also to the many volunteers who assisted in putting all the pieces together on the show floor.
- Chuck Miller of Miller Greenhouses for the gift of many annuals and hanging baskets, and the loan of several more choice plants. Dan Miller's "Biltmore Ballgown" abutilon was a highlight of the show.
- Garden Accents of Conshocken for the loan of chairs, rain chain and much-admired bronze ducks.
- Margaret Koogle of Lilypons Water Gardens for the pond liner and many fine water and marginal plants.
- Josh Wells of Wells Lawn Service and his crew for hours of assistance and heavy lifting during construction and teardown of the exhibit.
- Delaware Valley Aluminum for loan of antique door and windows.
- Many members who assisted with bulb forcing and plant care before the show, construction and planting during the build-up, maintenance, and finally teardown of the exhibit
- Over 50 members who worked on the exhibit during the show to tell visitors about the fun of water gardening.
- President Victor for transportation, logistics, encouragement, support and pizza.
