PHS Philadelphia Flower Show, March 2 - 11, 2018
DVWGS Exhibit

For the first time in many years, the DVWGS was invited to create an exhibit for the PHS Philadelphia Flower Show -- the world's largest indoor and America's oldest flower show. Months of planning, and great efforts by many members resulted in a beautiful and eyecatching exhibit, and great interest from many of the 250,000 Floswer Show visitors.
Very special thanks to...
  • Chris Baumer for his design and construction expertise, and endless hours of work.
  • Paul Pezzotti for his beautiful rocks, driftwood, lighting, and design sense and bringing it all together.
  • Craig Snyder for his great design and construction skills in building a beautiful pergola, and Connie Snyder for the beautiful "mermaid fence" backdrop.
  • Chuck Miller of Miller Greenhouses for the gift of many annuals and hanging baskets, and the loan of several more choice plants.
  • Garden Accents of Conshocken for the loan of chairs and garden ornaments.
  • Margaret Koogle of Lilypons Water Gardens for the pond liner, pump and many fine water and marginal plants.
  • John Sunny of Sunny Landscaping, Allentown for transportation and construction assistance
  • Sandy and Linda Grimwade for use of their sunroom to force plants during the cold winter months before the show.
  • Sandy, Gail Barsky, Sharon Reed and Gwen Staffiera for forcing bulbs.
  • Over 50 members who worked on the exhibit during the show to tell visitors about the fun of water gardening.
  • President Victor for transportation, logistics, encouragement, support and pizza.
It was a real communal effort, and we were rewarded with a Silver Medal from the PHS.
